Altecs in the u.k.

A friend of mine who's a huge Badfinger fan sent me the link to this video. It's a band called the Fortunes playing the Badfinger song "No Matter What" in England in 2002. Bob Jackson, who played in Badfinger for a couple of years, is now a member of the Fortunes. Anyways, while watching the video, I thought I spotted an Altec on the right side of the stage (and left too?). Do they look like Altecs to you?

Once you get over the distractions of those slim, trim, foxy young ladies, I think I saw a 311 horn topped with a 511? The bass cabinets are hard to tell, maybe some 815A's?

Good to see the old gals can still take some punishment and are still getting the "job" done. I'm talking about the speakers, not the dancers.....:snickerpup:

Hmmm, it seems the Fortunes appeal to a slightly different demographic than Justin Bieber--BTW, the original Badfinger version of that song blows away the Fortunes cover version of it....

Nice! Magic Christian Music was their first album and had some cool stuff on it--definitely a decent debut for them. A lot of people don't know that it was actually the soundtrack album for a film called Magic Christian Music (very offbeat movie starring Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr). One thing I really like about Badfinger is how they developed as artists. By the time of their second and especially third album ("Straight Up" produced by George Harrison and Todd Rundgren) they were unbelievably good. Their last album with the original line-up "Wish You Were Here" (released 6 months prior to the Pink Floyd album of the same name, coincidentally) is a masterpiece IMHO. Wish I could find some good videos from that album. Here's the original version of "No Matter What" from their second l.p. "No Dice"..... (but no Altecs or glamorous dancers in this video)
